Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s blockbuster will cross Rs 750 crore worldwide today at the box office

After SRK’s Jawan, which reached the Rs 500 crore club in 18 days, Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has become the second-fastest Hindi film to do so.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the horror comedy Stree 2 has made Rs 4.25 crore on its 23rd day of release, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The film’s nett domestic total now stands at Rs 526 crore. The film is expected to earn Rs 621 crore in India after three weeks at the box office, according to the makers.

Having been in theatres for three weeks now, it was expected that its earnings would drop. Due to Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency being postponed at the last minute, Stree 2 will have a free run in theaters until Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders debuts on September 13. While it debuted alongside Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, Stree 2 has mostly enjoyed an uncontested run.

On Friday, the film was occupied 13.35 percent, with most people attending the night shows. The occupancy rate in Mumbai was 12.25 percent from 787 shows. In Delhi and NCR, it was 12.75 percent from 1105 shows. As Stree 2 enters its fourth week in cinemas, both metros have reduced the number of shows.

With a worldwide gross of Rs 743.23 crore, the film grossed Rs 621.52 crore in India and Rs 121.71 crore internationally, according to Bollywood Hungama. The horror comedy film, backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, has maintained rock solid box office momentum. As a result, it has surpassed Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become the biggest in Hindi cinema history.

After Jawan, which reached Rs 500 crore in 18 days, Street 2 has become the second fastest Hindi film to do so. As the film’s lifetime run surpasses that of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, and SRK’s Pathaan and Jawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are now looking to make it the biggest Hindi film of all time.
